CFRP Wrapping of all existing columns

As a member company of ARKON NETWORK, RECAP sarl successfully executed the structural strengthening of reinforced concrete columns at the World Bank Building in Beirut, Lebanon, utilizing advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) technology.
The project formed part of a comprehensive structural rehabilitation program aimed at increasing the load-carrying capacity, ductility, and confinement of deficient reinforced concrete columns while ensuring compliance with the project’s structural objectives.
The structural analysis and finite element modeling were performed by BERM Consultants, who provided the structural forces, load combinations, and design parameters. Based on these engineering inputs, RECAP developed the CFRP strengthening design using the SikaWrap® system and executed the installation in accordance with international design standards and Sika technical specifications.
The works were carried out under the management of Hourie Enterprise, the project’s main contractor. RECAP was responsible for the complete CFRP strengthening package, including engineering review, strengthening design, supply and installation of the SikaWrap® system, quality assurance, and final inspection.
