Concrete repair and structural strengthening of a 3000 m² villa in Adma, including demolition, cutting, structural jacketing, and partial reconstruction.
The project aimed to restore structural integrity while adapting existing elements to updated engineering requirements.
The project involved extensive repair and strengthening of existing structural elements. All beams and slabs were stripped, treated, and repaired after addressing severely corroded reinforcement.
Structural retrofitting works were executed based on updated structural drawings, including modification of columns and walls, as well as reinforcement to improve resistance against seismic, lateral, and axial loads. Existing footings were inspected, strengthened, and in some cases redesigned to meet structural requirements. The existing swimming pool was completely demolished and reconstructed with new geometry and positioning.
The main challenge of the project was the excavation and demolition phase, particularly due to the extremely weak condition of the existing footings.
Unexpected site conditions were frequently encountered as a result of poor original construction practices.
These included inadequate reinforcement, irregular concrete quality, and undocumented structural modifications.
As a result, continuous reassessment and adaptive engineering solutions were required throughout the execution to ensure safety, stability, and compliance with structural standards.
